4×4 Trails to Sandwich Harbour

42km south of Walvis Bay the Sandwich Harbour Lagoon boasts a huge amount of bird life. See the sky darken with masses of pelicans, flamingos, cormorants and other seabirds. There is no accommodation or camping in the area and a high-clearance 4×4 vehicle is absolutely necessary.

Topnaar 4×4 Trail

This guided 4×4 Trail takes you through a desolate area with some beautiful spots, which are inaccessible without the right vehicle. You will pass Sandwich harbour, the Eduard Bolen shipwreck and get to test you sand-driving skills as your motor over the rusty orange Namib dunes.

This is a 6-day camping trip. Driving experience is recommended. If you don’t have a suitably equipped 4×4, specialized vehicles called Uri can be rented.
