Places to see in Northern Namibia

Etosha National Park
The north of Namibia is excellent for viewing wildlife. Situated around the Etosha salt pan the homonymous nature reserve is one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Find large predators, elephants, rhinos, zebra and antelope aplenty.
Caprivi Strip
In the North-East Namibia reaches out towards the Victoria Falls. In this area the landscape changes dramatically. Not as arid as the Etosha Pan the Caprivi Strip offers rivers and even marshes in an otherwise dry country. There is a similar variety of wildlife to Etosha, but the game parks here add water dwellers such as hippos, crocodiles and buffalo to the mix.

South of Etosha the Waterberg Plateau is a characteristic feature. The mountain range is nice for hiking and some rare animal species.
Ovamboland
More than half the Namibian population makes a living in the area north or Etosha, formerly the homeland of the Ovambo people. Travelling in Ovamboland gives you a great opportunity to mix with the locals, be in an Ovambo kraal or a cuca store.
