The Spitzkoppe Rock Formation

Out of the landscape of Damaraland rises a granite rock-formation in dramatic contrast to the surrounding flat land. The peak of Spitzkoppe is 1,784 metres above sea level and 700 metres above the plain below. Even though most of the San rock art has been vandalized, the sharp peak and playful patterns in the granite are well worth a closer inspection. The well organized and community-run camp-site makes this a must if you are travelling though Damaraland.
