Itinerary

Day 1, Windhoek to Okonjima: Leaving Windhoek around 9am our first stop is Namibia’s largest wood carving market in Okahandja. We arrive in Okonjima in the afternoon, where we will have the chance to visit the Africat Foundation. Africat is home to African Big Cats rescued from desperate situations. An educational tour gives you insight into the situation of these gracious predators.

Day 2, Okonjima to Etosha: With several short stops we arrive at Namutoni Camp on the eastern side of Etosha, where we will have lunch. A late afternoon game drive gives you your first taste of Etosha’s wildlife.

Day 3, Etosha National Park: Today we travel westwards through the park to enjoy a full day of game viewing. An early start allows us to catch the wildlife during its more active time of the day. We stop at Halali Camp for lunch, where you will have time to view the water hole and refresh yourself in the pool. We then continue to Okaukuejo, where we will spend the night. The water hole at the camp allows you to view black rhino, elephant and lion as they come to drink under the cover of night.

Day 4, Etosha to Kamanjab: Today we leave Etosha and travel south to a Himba settlement near Kamanjab. The only traditionally functioning Himba tribe outside the Kaokoveld welcomes you to experience their lifestyle, beliefs and customs. A translator allows for an interactive cultural experience.

Day 5, Kamanjab to Bandberg Mountain: Heading into Damaraland we will visit the famous rock art at Twyfelfontein. From here we drive to the Brandberg. Namibia’s tallest mountain rises high over the otherwise flat Damaraland and has one of the county’s most beautiful campsites. Dinner is prepared on an open fire while you enjoy the sunset and the emergence of the stars.

Day 6, Brandberg to Swakopmund: After an early start we hike into the Brandberg to see the famous “White Lady” rock painting. Travelling via Uis we meet with the Atlantic Ocean in Henties Bay and continue south along the coast. After viewing the seal colony at Cape Cross we arrive in Swakopmund in the late afternoon. Here you can arrange your own dinner. Accommodation is in twin share rooms.

Day 7, Swakopmund to Windhoek: Spend the morning in Swakopmund at your leisure. Various activities are available including quad biking, sand boarding, skydiving, surfing, birding or just a leisurely stroll through this laid-back seaside town. After lunch we drive back to Windhoek, where you will sleep in twin share room with en-suite facilities.

Day 8, Windhoek to Sesriem: We depart at noon and arrive at camp in time for a walk with views of the Naukluft Mountain Range. After enjoying the sunset and a delicious dinner, you sleep in permanent en-suite twin share tents.

Day 9, Sossusvlei and Sesriem: This day starts in the very early hours of the morning to catch the sunrise over the dunes of Sossusvlei. As the morning sun illuminates these ancient dunes, you can wander through the desert sand and explore the fantastic photographic opportunities. On our way back to the lodge you can climb the towering Dune 45 and we will stop at Sesriem Canyon, one of the only permanent water sources in the area.

Day 10, Sesriem to Windhoek: After breakfast we slowly head back to Windhoek, where our journey ends around lunchtime.
