Itinerary

Day 1, Windhoek to Huab River Valley: A short flight from Windhoek takes us to the towering dunes of Swakopmund. The early morning light is perfect for stunning photographs of rusty ancient sand. The aircraft then takes us to Cape Cross for a picnic on the beach and continues east over black mountain ridges rising out of white sand. We spend the night at Kuidas Camp in the Huab River Valley.

Day 2, Huab River Valley to Hoarusib Valley: After breakfast we explore the stunning fauna and flora of the Huab River. Lunch at Kuidas Camp is followed by a flight to the icy waters of Terrace Bay in the Skeleton Coast Park. In a Land Rover we venture into the towering dunes of the Namib Desert. The aircraft then takes us north to Purros Camp in the Hoarusib Valley.

Day 3, Hoarusib Valley to Kunene River: A scenic drive takes us to a settlement of the Himba people. These nomads have braved this stark environment for centuries, untouched by Westernization. The aircraft then takes us to the Angolan border formed by the Kunene River.  Shipwrecks lie scattered along this particularly rugged part of the Skeleton Coast. A drive in the Land Rover takes us to a picturesque lunch spot before we continue to the Kunene River Camp, where we spend the night.

Day 4, Kunene River to Windhoek: A morning boat trip on the Kunene River allows us to explore the surreal environment, where the riverine vegetation contrasts the starkness of the Hartmann Valley. After lunch we fly back to Windhoek, arriving in the late afternoon.
