Day 1, Winhoek to Huab River Valley: A scenic flight from Windhoek takes us to the towering rusty dunes of Sossusvlei. The morning sun gives the perfect light for stunning landscape photography. The flight continues along the coast passing the famous Eduard Bohlen shipwreck and stopping at Cape Cross for lunch on the beach. We then continue inland to the black mountain ridges of the Huab River Valley, where we will spend the night at Kuidas Camp.
Day 2, Huab River Valley to Hoarusib Valley: The morning allows you to venture into the unique fauna and flora of the Huab River via Land Rover. After lunch we fly to Terrace Bay, where we explore the massive sand dunes in a Land Rover and visit the pristine beach. The aircraft then takes us to Hoarusib Valley in the Kunene Region, where we’ll spend the night at Purros Camp.
Day 3, Hoarusib Valley to Kunene River: The morning holds an encounter with the nomadic Himba people, who have roamed this area for centuries untarnished by Westernization. A scenic flight takes us to the Kunene River that forms Namibia’s northern border with Angola. A beautiful drive takes us to our outdoor lunch spot. We then continue through the Hartmann Valley to reach our final destination for the day, the Kunene River Camp.
Day 4, Kunene River to Etosha National Park: In the morning we take a boat cruise on the Kunene River that flows through a harsh desert environment with the riverine vegetation creating a sharp contrast. After lunch the aircraft takes us to the famous Etosha National Park, where we will spend the night in a lodge just outside the park.
Day 5, Etosha National Park to Windhoek: A morning game drive in Etosha provides ample opportunity to view most of Africa’s big game, including lion, rhino, elephant and large amounts of plains game. The flight back to Windhoek leaves in the afternoon to ensure that you arrive back before dark.
