Itinerary
Day 1, Windhoek to NamibRand Nature Reserve: An early morning flight takes you from Windhoek to Sossusvlei. The ancient sand dunes provide spectacular photographic opportunities. We continue into the NamibRand Nature Reserve, where we will stay at Wolwedans Dune Camp for 2 nights. In the afternoon we explore the reserve on a game drive.
Day 2, NamibRand to Lüderitz and back: Today you will join the full-day Elizabeth Bay Safari staring from Lüderitz. Experience the welcoming German atmosphere in Lüderitz and the ghost town of Kolmanskop. Then venture to the forbidden coast and see a Cape fur seal colony. The flight back to camp takes you past Spencer Bay and the Otavi shipwreck.
Day 3, NamibRand to Huab River Valley: Flying over Conception Bay we view the Eduard Bohlen shipwreck. After a lunch stop at Cape Cross we fly inland and descend in the Huab River Valley, where we stay the night at Kuidas Camp. A short walk from camp takes you to ancient rock engravings.
Day 4, Huab River Valley to Hoarusib Valley: A scenic drive in our Land Rover takes you through the unique landscape and vegetation of the Huab River. After lunch the aircraft takes you to Terrace Bay, where we will explore the mighty dunes in a Land Rover. After a visit to the beach we board the plane and proceed to Purros Camp in the Hoarusib Valley in the Kunene Region.
Day 5, Hoarusib Valley to Kunene River: The day starts with an unusual cultural encounter as we visit the nomadic Himba people. The aircraft then takes us to the Kunene River in the extreme north of Namibia. A drive through the picturesque landscape takes us to a scenic lunch spot. The drive continues through the Hartmann Valley and ends at Kunene River Camp.
Day 6, Kunene River to Windhoek: In the morning we explore the riverine environment of the Kunene River that stands in extreme contrast to the arid surrounds. After lunch we fly back to Windhoek arriving in the late afternoon.
