The Namib Desert is famous for its vast landscapes and quiet solitude. Experience the world’s oldest desert from a bird’s eye view as the wind carries you over ancient dunes, rugged mountains and fascinating patterns of shadow and light. General Information

We launch the balloon as the sunrises over the endless sea of sand. View the play of shadow and light on the world’s oldest desert as you float silently through the Namibian sky. After landing you are presented with an “Out of Africa”-style champagne breakfast. The 4×4 drive back to the lodge gives you a different perspective on the desert landscape.

A hot air balloon is an incredibly calm and quiet way to travel. As you hand yourself over to the wind there are hardly any turbulences at all. The pilot controls direction by taking advantage of the wind directions at different altitude levels.

The magnificent aerial views from a completely steady platform create unique photographic opportunities. An exclusive concession to the conservation areas allows us to take you to the most scenic and unspoilt areas of the Namib Desert.

Preparation

The mornings can be chilly so a pullover is recommended. However the balloon is sensitive to weight, so once the sun has risen your camera and a sun hat will be all you need.

Safety

Guest safety is always our first priority and we only fly in perfect conditions. If a flight is cancelled you will of course be refunded.
